Step 2
Mint to the blockchain
Minting an asset's fingerprint to the blockchain is the act of securely recording its time of existence. This creates an immutable and transparent timestamp that establishes its origin and ownership beyond doubt.
Step 3
Generate certificate of authenticity
Receive a digital certificate recording the origin and owner of the file and the time of its existence registered against its regional timestamp authority.
Step 4
Prove existence and ownership
Demonstrate the existence of a file by referencing it against its record in the blockchain. This process verifies, beyond doubt, the file's origin, authenticity, and its owner.
Your files, your control
Files registered with Peerdweb do not leave your device:
- File hashing is done locally in your browser using JavaScript
- The result of the file hashing, the digital fingerprint, is minted to the blockchain
- Your file contents are never uploaded to our servers
- Your files contents cannot be determined from the digital fingerprint
- Your files are returned to you from the browser, in a zip file to ensure you have a copy which remains unchanged

Secure Local File Hashing
Your files never leave your device as we locally compute a SHA256 hash in the browser using JavaScript, creating a unique digital fingerprint of your file.
The contents of your file cannot be determined from the digital fingerprint nor are they uploaded to our servers, ensuring maximum security and privacy.

Minting the digital fingerprint of your file to the blockchain creates a transparent and immutable timestamp, establishing its origin and ownership.
Prove Existence and Ownership
Easily demonstrate the existence and ownership of a file by referencing its unique digital fingerprint (SHA256 hash) against its record in the blockchain.
